The process of creation is not static. It is a continuous process and at every moment the three universes are being created from the womb of the mother. To be able to understand and partake this process is what the Gayatri Mantra is all about. Gaya means to sing. Any creation means pain. The birth of the universe means the pain of labor. To overcome pain and sing, ‘gaya’ the song of life is Gayatri. Hanuman Chalisa is wonderful poem by Goswami Tulsidas. The poem starts with a doha, where the poet says he has cleaned his mind with the dust of his Guru’s feet. In the mind of Hanumanji it became a two-faced mirror. One side reflected life and in the other he saw Ram, Sita, and Lakshman. Here the technique of double arrowed attention is being talked about; the disciple aims one arrow of attention on the events of life and the other towards his reactions to them, leading to a state of self-observation and witnessing.
The poet says he was without intelligence, in a state of darkness called ‘buddhi-heen’, from which he awakens by remembering ‘sumirau Pavan Kumar’ or son of the wind. Each moment we live in the darkness of our hypnosis to the events of life. To awaken from this and realize our aim, Mr. Rajen Vakil shares his perspective on the poem and how to apply for our own growth, maturity and elevating our level of consciousness.
The Yoga Sutra is a manual of instructions. In precise, small and scientific aphorisms Rishi Patanjali explains the whole spiritual map. What is the Body Brain System – what takes it to the higher levels of consciousness as how it sinks into the hypnosis of life. What obstacles come in the way and how can they be overcome.
Patanjali prescribes adherence to eight "limbs" or steps (the sum of which constitute "Ashtanga Yoga") to quiet one's mind and achieve kaivalya. The Yoga Sutras form the theoretical and philosophical basis of Raja Yoga, and are considered to be the most organized and complete definition of that discipline. The Sutras not only provide yoga with a thorough and consistent philosophical basis, they also clarify many important esoteric concepts which are common to all traditions of Indian thought, such as karma.
